About Dan Bronoske:

Dan Bronoske is a Pierce County firefighter of 20 years. He served 6 years in the Army National Guard as a M1crewman operating tanks. Bronoske is working on the front lines of the coronavirus pandemic, responding to emergencies and fighting to get protective equipment for all frontline health workers.

Bronoske believes we need to be laser focused on fixing the crises we are facing and bringing stability back to life:

Bronoske knows firsthand the devastating effects high health care costs can have on a family. Bronoske will fight to reduce the cost of prescription drugs and limit out-of-pocket costs on all health insurance programs. He will also work to protect coverage for people with pre-existing conditions, including those who test positive for the coronavirus.

Invest in medical supply manufacturing right here in Pierce County, we cannot rely on foreign countries for essential medical supplies. Masks, gowns, pharmaceuticals and other essential medical supplies should be made here in America, getting people back to work and creating skilled manufacturing jobs here in Pierce County.

Everyone deserves a shot at a good paying job, not just those who go to a 4-year college. Bronoske will help create a career and technical education diploma for Washington State high schools. He will also invest in job training and community support for veterans.

Bronoske will work to protect the waterfront in the South Sound from toxic chemical dumping and pollution and stand up to corporate polluters. Bronoske will fight for more investment in clean energy jobs and prioritize affordable clean energy, helping to bring good paying jobs to Washington.

About Chris Nye:

Nye’s values are out of touch with Washington.

Health care: Nye funded a special interest group that supports rolling back coverage for people with pre-existing medical conditions, which would allow insurance companies to refuse to cover basic care needs like hospitalization and prescription drugs, and charge an age tax for older Americans. Even in the middle of the pandemic, Nye supports (Trump’s) efforts that would strip insurance protections for people with pre-existing conditions.

Voting by mail: Nye supports Donald Trump who is trying to make it harder to vote. Nye’s allies want to require all Washington state elections to take place only at polling places in-person because it will help Republicans politically. Their plan makes it harder for people to vote and will cost the state millions of dollars to purchase voting machines and pay poll workers to run the polling places.

Washington Jobs: Nye’s allies don’t believe there should be a minimum wage at all. They support eliminating the minimum wage entirely, allowing employers to pay workers as little as they want. Nye also funds a special interest group that is pushing to eliminate a rule that ensures state projects go to Washington state businesses and create Washington jobs. Instead, Nye and his allies would allow the state government to send our tax dollars to companies in other states and foreign countries.
