LD 19, Pos. 2

About Brian Blake:

Rep. Brian Blake has represented Southwest Washington in the State Legislature since 2002, following a decade as a logger and a career as an environmental specialist for the Department of Corrections.

A bipartisan collaborator and strong advocate for the 19th LD across his time in office, Brian has secured billions in investments for our local communities, infrastructure, and priorities over his nearly two decades in office. These include game-changing investments in our local community colleges, apprenticeship programs, and career and technical education (“CTE”) programs in high schools.

As the Chair of the House Committee on Rural Development, Agriculture, and Natural Resources, Brian is one the most influential voices in our state on laws that affect rural communities and major elements of our local economy, including farming, forest protection, fisheries, and wildlife. He has been named Legislator of the Year by the Washington Farm Bureau for his commitment to growing and maintaining our state’s agriculture industry.

Brian is a small business owner and also serves on the House committee overseeing business and consumer protection, making sure Southwest Washington’s small businesses have a seat at the table. He’s committed to helping small businesses get back on their feet as we weather the COVID pandemic.

A graduate of Aberdeen High School and Grays Harbor Community College, Brian lives in Aberdeen with his wife Debra and their dogs. He is a leader in the community and serves as a board member with the Coastal Harvest Food-bank Distribution Center and Lower Columbia Community Action Program.
