At the HDCC, we’re building a team of creative problem-solvers that will share their expertise to protect and grow the Democratic majority in the WA House of Representatives. We are seeking energetic and organized Summer Fellows who have a passion for politics and desire to drive social change. This year’s inaugural Fellowship program will provide an opportunity to collaborate with legislators and political professionals and gain hands-on experience in all aspects of campaigns including, but not limited to, community organizing, fundraising, communications, and research. No previous campaign experience required.


  • Develop and execute a district-specific community engagement strategy with an emphasis on direct voter contact
  • Assist with event coordination, planning, and day-of-event operations
  • Create communications content and compile media coverage
  • Research regarding legislative vote records, district characteristics, and candidate background research
  • Assist with administrative duties including database management, mass mailings, email blasts, and other tasks
  • Other responsibilities as they develop

The 10-week Fellowship program (June through August) requires a 20 hr/week commitment. Base salary set at $1,200/month with additional reimbursement for travel, cell phone usage, and pre-approved out of pocket expenses. Internship credit may also be available, depending on school requirements.
